Reference for: Yup.. I'm going to join an OCT with.. a balloon.
Well... here I go...
Name: The Drifter for official terms but you can call him Drifter or Drift if you prefer.
Age: Well it's hard to explain but he's been a balloon for 2 years.
Gender: Male
Height: From the top of the balloon to the bottom of his string bottom, 5'9
Weight: Pretty light
Personality: Where to start, well for a balloon, he's a bit emotional. He's generally shy to anyone but he tries to be friendly to all he meets, even the ones that he finds intimidating. He's also curious about the world beyond the abandoned mansion's walls that he resides in. He's keen to learn all he needs to know because he doesn't exactly like being called any synonym for the word dumb. He also has the innocence of a young child since he never exactly got exposed to all the troubles in anyone's life has gone through (yet....). He doesn't really get too deeply into emotions since he doesn't exactly grasp them well but he tries to learn them. When something goes wrong and when he's in the room, he'll beg and beg and etc. even if it's something incredibly small or doesn't really matter or if he didn't do anything at all. Plus for fighting, well.. he's not exactly a big fan of them but he knows the basics. Also he's a bit awkward and tends to stutter nervously where talking or socializing with pretty much anyone. So good luck having a conservation with him... :/
Background: Not much is known about his origin but he woke up as a balloon. He wandered in the abandoned mansion and found others similar to his ordeal and eventually become friends with them (well almost all of them). He soon learned that each of them had special powers except... the Drifter making feel like he was a useless, unimportant nobody among them. One day, he discovered a dusty and unused library. He soon became fascinated with what the books told him and spent many days reading them. He also eventually found an unused camera and photo album that no was using and he was amazed at what it can do. Taking various pictures for a few months, he soon realized that there was more for him to see, outside the ancient mansion's walls. So he went outside and tried to open the front gates except he was sent flying back. Apparently that their "Master" put up shields around the entire mansion so that nothing or nobody can go or out. However one Halloween night, a crippled human boy came stumbling to the mansion and actually went in. The Drifter, never meeting a human, grew interested and eventually, they became good friends. However the boy had to leave and the Drifter wanted to leave and go with him but the shields still block him away. Only now.. the Drifter waits to be drifted away...
Likes: Learning, Reading, his camera and photo album, Ian (the crippled boy), starry nights, sunsets and sunrises, friends, gentle breezes, and his umbrella and coat.
Dislikes: Violence, Anything that's pointy and sharp, Conflict, Thunderstorms, and being unable to do anything and be useless.
Weapon: Well, it's not something incredibly epic but... it's just a regular old black umbrella. He uses this umbrella as some sort of club or as a sword-like fashion. And handles with it pretty well. But most likely he'll use his umbrella as some sort of shield. Also when he takes certain occasional aerial approach, he uses the umbrella to help him land smoothly or help him steer to other directions. If he loses it, as much as it pains him, he'll find a substitute.
Abilities: He doesn't exactly walk, he floats a few inches off the ground. The only thing that keeps him anchored to the ground is the coat he wears. If he takes it off, he'll be easily in the sky (or I guess in this case... the ground) in a slow speed and can't exactly control especially when rough winds would kick in. He normally doesn't want to do it because of what he hears of what happens to balloons that would stay up above for too long.. O.o
One more thing, is his body itself. He has the ability to inflate or deflate his head for only a few minutes, kinda like holding a human's breath under water. Usually, after he does this, he gets extremely nauseous and dizzy. His string arms and leg can help give him a good grip on objects and can even make excellent knots and ties. Before he headed off to Phaeton.. his "friend" entrusted him with his power because as his friend said.. he's going to need it. (will be explained in part called THE POWER)
Strength: Can't feel pain, can escape well, be silent and quiet, fast, light... on his... foot..., excellent dodging, handling his umbrella, can get through tight spaces, and.. THE POWER.
Weaknesses: Too trusting to anyone, has the biggest weak spot on him.. his head itself, using a sharp or pointy object can do wonders on him, gets pinned down too easily, limited intelligence, not strong pretty weak, and he can't exactly control his flight when there's winds present, and he can't control THE POWER.
If popped: Okay it doesn't really happen because it's kinda hard to even do that but if it does, he has 24 hours to put his head together. In this state, he kinda moves around like a zombie like trace and can't exactly speak at all. If he doesn't make it before 24 hours...
he's pretty much... dead...
Okay.. *Drum Roll* THE POWER: Due to recent events, the Drifter had to accept his unfortunate destiny to help to return his friends' power/abilities. However one of them, who the Drifter doesn't exactly trust, gave the Drifter his powers for him to stand a chance for this incredible force. This power is being able to use his own spirit into energy in various of ways in a form of fire. These include, ability to morph the energy into anything the Drifter uses into various of sizes and shapes. However he can't do it too much because it will weaken him greatly and his own spirit and his friend's as well. Plus, the Drifter doesn't want to use it too much because.. he's afraid of what the dire consequences that will come...
Extra info: He doesn't like taking his coat off and like to wear it the majority of the time. He does like to take pictures of new places and new friends and places them in the photo album. He randomly likes to twirl/play with his umbrella. When he loses bits of his string, he has a wads of strings in his coat pocket to replace them.
Oh, and I saw your question on the OCT's page (I was afraid to answer on their, cuz that's usually the judges job) You just send them a note, the button should be at the top of the page, and you just type in the subject, ref or auditon or whatever, and attach a link to the note and send it.
Too cute!
